POUGHKEEPSIE, N.J. (November 15, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team went 4-3 Sunday at the annual Vassar Invitational.
The Ducks topped Tufts University 16-11, Wellesley College 17-10, the University of Florida 22-5, and Long Island University 23-4, while falling to Northwestern University 25-2, Sacred Heart University 16-11, and Cornell University 20-7.
Senior
Caroleen Chen tallied the most wins for the Ducks with a 14-5 day at foil, to go along with an 11-5 afternoon for sophomore
Abby Kaye. Freshman
Julie McEldoon tallied a winning 12-7 record at epee, while sophomore
Erin Hatcher picked-up eight wins.
Stevens saw four fencers record winning afternoons at sabre, led by an 11-7 record for freshman
Michelle Drobish, and a 10-6 day for freshman
Julia Yang. Sophomore Karen Kang and freshman
Madeleine Daniell rounded-out the Ducks at sabre with 8-7 and 5-3 records respectively.
The Ducks will take the next two weekends off from competition before retuning on Dec. 6 with the NIWFA Christmas Invitational.
