WILKES BARRE, Pa. (NOVEMBER 14, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling team knocked off No. 5 Ithaca College, No 7 Wilkes University and SUNY-Oneonta at the John Reese Duals Saturday.
 
The Ducks moved to 3-1 in dual meets this year.
 
Stevens 20, No. 5 Ithaca 15
Junior Rob Murray, freshman Thomas Pokikuha, senior Ryan Wilson and sophomore Phil Woods picked up decision wins, with Wilson and Woods failing to allow their opponents to score a point. Junior Colin Navickas picked up a major decision at 165, while sophomore A.J. Kowal grabbed a major decision at 197. At 285, senior Tyler Maher dropped a hard fought decision, falling 3-2.

The Ducks dropped the first two bouts at 125 and 133, before Wilson picked up a 9-4 decision at 141. Stevens received major decision victories from Navickas at 165 and Woods at 174, while also getting a 5-2 decision from senior Victor Del Monico at 157. Kowal picked up his second victory of the afternoon with a technical fall at 197.

Murray, Woods and junior Danny Moore all picked up forfeit wins during the Oneonta match. Wilson and Navickas added their third wins of the afternoon at the 141 and 165 weight classes, while sophomore Zach Wilhelm registered a 14-2 major decision win at 149. Kowal had a major decision win at the 197, and Maher picked up his first of the day with a fall at the 1:40 mark. Junior Leo Wortman grabbed a win at 157 to round out the scoring for the Ducks.
