RESULTSROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 13, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team won its third consecutive match Sunday with a 9-0 rout over St. John Fisher College.
The win moved Stevens to 3-1, while Fisher fell to 0-4.
The freshman doubles team of
Victoria Piskarev and
Jill Hadwen started the Ducks winning with an 8-1 win at No. 3, before
Alexis Connor and
Julia Guignard continued the run with an 8-2 win at No. 1. Sophomore
Katrina Guido and freshman
Sydney Zoretic completed the doubles sweep shortly after with an 8-2 win at No. 2.
With the win, Guido and Zoretic stayed unbeaten this fall at 4-0.
Guignard continued the winning with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4, followed by a 6-2, 6-1 win for Conner at No. 1. Guido followed-suit with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 3, before Piskarev completed her 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2. Junior
Jillian Morneau and Conner completed the sweep with 8-5 and 6-2, 6-1 wins at No. 6 and No. 1 respectively.
The singles victories pushed Guido and Guignard to 4-0 on the season.
The Ducks will continue their Empire 8 Conference schedule Saturday with a 12 p.m. match against Ithaca College in Hoboken.
