RESULTS
HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 26, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team won its second straight match Saturday, 9-0 over Houghton College.
The win moved Stevens to 5-2, while Houghton fell to 4-4.
Freshmen
Victoria Piskarev and
Jill Hadwen started the Ducks winning with an 8-4 win at No. 3, before sophomore
Katrina Guido and freshman
Sydney Zoretic followed it up with an 8-3 win at No. 2. The win was the fourth of the season for Piskarev and Hadwen, while Guido and Zoretic stayed unbeaten at 6-0.
Senior Julia Guiganrd and junior
Alexis Connor complted the doubles sweep with an 8-1 win at No. 1, followed by a win at first singles for Connor. Zoretic and Piskarev followed with wins at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively, before Guignard picked-up the 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4.
With the match in hand, Piskarev and Guido completed the match sweep with two-set wins.
The Ducks will continue their homestand Wednesday when they host Muhlenberg College at 3:30 p.m.
