Women’s Hoops To Take On No. 9/11 Muhlenberg

HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 17, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team closes out its non-conference schedule with a road game against No. 9/11 Muhlenberg College Monday.

GAME INFO
Tip-off in Allentown, Pa. is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall.

WEEKEND REWIND
The Ducks (10-4, 6-0 Empire 8 Conference) picked up a pair of E8 wins over the weekend. On Friday they topped Houghton College 52-37 before knocking off Alfred University 81-36 Saturday.

KEEPING BALANCE
Stevens got contributions from everyone on Saturday, seeing each active player record at least one point, assist and rebound. Senior Miranda Ripken led the team with 14 points and six rebounds.

STAYING FRESH
Freshman Elena Sanchez scored a career-high eight points Saturday, shooting a perfect 2-for-2 from behind the arc. 

DO YOU BENCH?
The reserve unit nearly outscored the starters against Alfred, scoring 39 points to the starters 42. Senior Megan Petuskey chipped in seven, while sophomores Brooke Stoddard and Megan Brown combined for nine points and nine rebounds.

DE-FENSE
By allowing 73 points over the last two games, the Ducks reclaimed the E8 lead in scoring defense. The team has allowed a mere 54.2 points per game, and are outscoring opponents by an average of 10.7 points per game.

DISHIN THE ROCK
Junior Erica Guketlov is second in the E8 with 3.5 assists per game, while Brown is tied for fifth with 2.8 per contest.

SCOUTING THE MULES
The Mules come into the game with a 10-1 record, falling only to McDaniel College on January 12. The teams share a common opponent, as both have knocked off DeSales University this season. Muhlenberg has three players in double figures, led by Rachel Plotke who averages 14.3 points per game.
