Men’s Basketball Hosts Second-Place Naz Friday

HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 21, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team (7-7, 3-3) will host Nazareth College Friday in a crucial Empire 8 Conference contest.

GAME INFO
Due to the forecasted snow storm, tip-off time has been moved to 4 p.m. at Canavan Arena in Hoboken.

LAST TIME OUT
Down 14 with five minutes to go last Saturday against Alfred University, the Ducks went on a 14-1 run to pull within one before falling in the final minute, 81-77.

SCOUTING REPORT
At 9-6 overall and 5-1 in the conference, Naz enters Friday's game in a tie for second place in the E8 with Hartwick College. Mitch Ford is the Golden Flyers' top scorer at 24.6 points per game, while Tyler Stenglein and Maurice Mills each average double-figures in scoring. 

DEADLOCKED
With Saturday's loss, the Ducks entered a three-way tie for fourth place in the E8 with Alfred and Ithaca College. 

FREEBIES
At 87 percent, junior Evan Klimchak is the E8's leader in free throw percentage. Among the top three in the conference, Klimchak has also attempted the most from the line this season. 

DOUBLE-TROUBLE
Junior Patrick Barron and Klimchak are the highest scoring tandem in the E8 at 19 and 18.5 points per game respectively. 

COS-ING OFFENSE
Sophomore Chris Cosgrove leads the E8 in assist/turnover ratio, and is second in the conference with 5.9 assists per game.

CANAVAN COMFORT
In Stevens' four wins at home this season, its outscoring opponents by an average margin on 25.5 points per game.

SCHEDULE UPDATE
Saturday's game with St. John Fisher College has been moved to next Friday, Jan. 29 at 4 p.m. in Hoboken.
