Baseball To Host A Pair Of In-State Rivals

HOBOKEN, N.J. (February 25, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team will host a pair of in-state rivals Saturday and Sunday.

GAME INFO
The Ducks will host William Paterson University on Saturday, before taking on Drew University Sunday. Both games are scheduled at 1 p.m. at Dobbelaar Field.

RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY
Stevens and Keystone College were supposed to meet on Wednesday, but Mother Nature forced a postponement with no makeup date announced yet.

WEEK REWIND
The Ducks opened the 2016 campaign with a 2-1 week, topping No. 6/5 Kean University and SUNY-Old Westbury before falling to the College at Brockport on Sunday. The win over Kean was a 10 inning affair.

HIP HIP, MULE'
Junior Michael Mule' propelled the Ducks to a win over Old Westbury, delivering a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth to put Stevens in front for good.

WELCOME TO COLLEGE
Freshman Carlos Leon has shined in the opening three games, leading the Ducks with a .545 batting average. Leon had three hits in the Kean and Brockport games.

BIG MAC PATTY WHACK
The bullpen trio of sophomore Andrew Hamel and seniors Ryan Patterson and Danny McIntyre have been lights out to start the season. Hamel twirled three shutout innings and earned the win over Old Westbury, while Patterson has recorded a save in each of his first two appearances.

IN ALL MY DAYS
Senior Greg Jakusik has added another dimension out of the 'pen this year. After missing last year due to injury, Jakusik has fanned six hitters over four innings of relief, without allowing a run.

THREE FOR PJ
Junior P.J. Wiegartner made the most of his only hit of the season so far, mashing a three-run bomb against Brockport.

SIEBER FEVER
Senior Nick Sieber started the year off like he finished 2015, hitting. In the opener against Kean, Sieber went 3-for-5 including an RBI.
