HOBOKEN, N.J. (February 8, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team hosts Empire 8 Conference rival Ithaca College Tuesday night.
FILL THE CANTip-off is scheduled in Canavan Arena tomorrow at 8 p.m. and has been selected as the #AllRise Game of the Week. Fans can bring t-shirt of the other colleges to exchange for Stevens Athletics shirts. (Limit one per person.) All shirts collected will be donated to the Hoboken homeless shelter.
WEEKEND REWINDThe Ducks picked up two E8 wins on the road last weekend, topping Houghton College 76-48 and Alfred University 79-46 on Saturday.
RIPKEN WATCHWith 27 points in two games this weekend, senior
Miranda Ripken is closing in on becoming the 11th person in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Ripken is a mere five points away from the mark.
SCOUTING THE BOMBERSIthaca comes into the game on a two game losing streak, and are currently 11-9 overall. Within the Empire 8, they are 7-4, and Jordan Beers 11.3 points per game.
LAST TIME OUTThe Ducks won the only other meeting of the season 84-63. Ripken led the way with 20 points, and junior
Erica Guketlov chipped in 18 points and six assists.
DUCK DEFENSEStevens has held its opponents to just under 54 points per game this year, and are outscoring them by 11.2 points.
CRASH THE BOARDSThe Ducks lead the E8 in rebounding as a team, and sophomores
Megan Brown and
Anna Toke are each in the top six.
ERICA THE PASSERGuketlov is second in the E8 in assists, handing out 3.5 assists per game.
QUICK HANDSToke and Brown are in the top five in blocked shots, while Brown is fourth in the conference with 39 steals.
