HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 17, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team hosts Kean University Friday afternoon.

SWEEP, SWEEPThe Ducks swept a doubleheader against MIT last Saturday, topping the Engineers 6-5 and 6-2.
AWARD SEASONAfter tossing a complete game in game two against MIT with a career-high 13 strikeouts, senior
Robert Robbins was named Empire 8 Conference Pitcher of the Week. Robbins has struck out 30 batters in 24.0 innings this year.
YANO KNOWSSenior
Jayson Yano also threw a complete game against MIT, this time in game one. Yano fanned nine while surrendering only one earned run. The senior currently boasts a .96 ERA through four starts.
COUGAR CLASHFor the second time this season, the Ducks will battle the Cougars of Kean. In the season opener back on February 19, Stevens topped Kean 3-2 in 10 innings.
SCOUTING KEANThe Cougars come into the contest with an 8-7 overall record. In their biggest victory of the year, Kean topped No. 8/10 Salisbury University 11-3 on Tuesday. Salvatore Taormina leads the team with a .367 batting average in eight games.
DINGER DERBYIn the two games against the Engineers, the team bashed four home runs, including three in game one.
ZEPH GOES BOOMJunior
Zeph Walters delivered two huge homers Saturday, including a three-run blast in the bottom of the eighth of game one to give the Ducks the lead. Walters currently is tied for the team lead with 12 RBI's.
WELCOME TO THE CLUBFreshman
Carlos Leon hammered his first collegiate home run on Saturday. The home run also counted for the first RBI of the youngster's career.
