  • Short Story: The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team dropped only five points in the singles flights to earn an 8-1 victory over Muhlenberg College in a non-conference match Wednesday afternoon.
  • The records: Stevens: 5-1; 4-1 (Empire 8); Muhlenberg: 0-2; 0-0 (Centennial) 
  • Of note: The victory was the fifth straight for Stevens and the first against a non-conference opponent.
    
How It Happened
  • Sophomore Nicole Badalyan and sophomore Gabrielle Tantillo opened the match scoring with an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles. 
  • Sophomores Julia Earl and Isabella Calandra gave the Ducks a 2-0 lead with an 8-3 win over Muhlenberg's Megan Olson and Jourdyn Buckheit at first doubles.
  • The Mules earned their only point of the match with a hard-fought 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles.
  • Earl earned her second victory of the match with a straight-set win at first singles.
  • Junior Victoria Piskarev continued her strong play in the singles flights with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Shelby Knafo.
  • Freshman Makenna Sargis shutout Molly Roitman to give Stevens the victory.
  • Calandra, Zoretic and Hadwen earned singles victories to provide the final margin of victory.
