ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 20, 2018) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team will be the No.2 seed as the Empire 8's top four teams get together this weekend in Rochester to decide the league champion and an automatic berth in the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.
The Ducks will bring a record of 18-7 into the postseason, with a 12-4 record in the Empire 8. Nazareth finished one game above Stevens in the standings and will host all three games of the tournament as the top seed.
Stevens went 3-3 against the three teams in the field this season, including a sweep of Alfred and a split against Utica, with the home team winning both games between the Ducks and Pioneers. Utica and Stevens tangled in the last game of the regular season, a 75-71 win for UC. The two teams will play a neutral site rubber match on Friday evening.
