Harden's Thoughts
  • "St. Lawrence got just under a foot of snow earlier in the week, so their grounds crew worked around the clock to clear the course. They had a challenging job, especially given that the snow melted on Friday afternoon and then refroze overnight with temperatures around seven degrees. Ultimately, the course was pretty clear with sections of frozen footprints, mud, ice, and snow. There were a couple dicey spots, but it was a fair course and we would like to thank the St. Lawrence staff for their work that enabled us to have a true cross country race."
  • "During the race, temperatures were around 16 degrees, but it was sunny with no wind.  The course looped around athletic fields for the first mile before entering a narrow, winding woods trail for the next mile. The men repeated both sections a second time, before finishing with a final fields circuit."
  • "Trevor had his best race of the season, in terms of time, place, and engagement. He improved 26 places from last season at this meet. It was encouraging to see him bounce back from a disappointing MAC race (where he was outside of our top-seven), to finish as our top man today. Will Schulz has been our season MVP, improving every time out.  While he didn't set a personal best today due to the conditions, he was leading our team for much of the race and ultimately finished as our #2 runner in his first collegiate season of XC."
  • "Today was the final XC race for our senior, Jake Catalano. Jake has raised the team standard, particularly in terms of training load. We appreciate everything he has given to the program and we look forward to seeing what he can do in track."
