NEWARK, N.J. (February 9, 2019) — The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team defeated New Jersey Institute of Technology (16-11) and Wagner College (19-8), while only falling to Division I powerhouse Temple University (5-22) at the NJIT Invitational on Saturday.
Four of the victories against Temple came from the epee squad as senior
Julie McEldoon registered two wins while classmate
Amanda Choy and junior
Teny Odaimi each tallied one. Freshman
Sara Persau earned the final win at foil.Â
Sabre squad led the way with a record of 2-1 against NJIT (7-2) and Wagner (9-0). Epee followed with 8-1 against Wagner and 4-5 against both Temple and NJIT. Foil ended with a 5-4 victory against NJIT while falling to Temple (1-8) and Wagner (2-7).Â

- Choy led the at epee with a 6-3 record, followed by Odaimi (5-4).
- McEldoon ended the day at 4-3 while freshman Christine Chan registered 1-1 record.Â
