James Earns MAC Freedom Baseball Player of the Week Honor

Sophomore Finishes the Week 4 for 10 with Seven RBI to Garner Accolade

ANNVILLE, Pa. (March 2, 2020) – Sophomore Tom James of the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team was named the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week after his stellar performances on the field, the league announced Monday.
James finished the week 4 for 10 with seven RBIs and became the second player in three weeks to be honored by the conference after Gannon Kenney-McGowan picked up the honor on February 16.

In the first game of the week, James went 2 for 5 with three RBIs and also swiped a bag against No. 14/22 UMass-Boston. He followed it up with another 2 for 5 performance, this time with four RBIs and a double against Endicott.

On the week, James drove in seven of the Ducks' 13 total runs.

Currently, the DH out of Murrieta, California, has registered a hit in all eight games on the season and has produced multiple hits in four contests. James leads the conference with 11 RBIs and is also tied for the league lead in hits with 12. 

This season, James leads the team with a .375 batting average while also producing three doubles and a .469 slugging percentage.
