HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 14, 2021)  – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team announced its 2021-22 competition schedule Thursday. The calendar features 25 contests, including 15 in the friendly confines of Canavan Arena, where the Ducks are 98-32 since 2010.

"We are really excited about this season's schedule," said head coach Bobby Hurley. "It is going to be very challenging, but I think this year's group is up to the test. Our non-conference schedule features some really talented teams that will help prepare us each night in the MAC Freedom."

The Ducks kick off the 2021-22 season with five straight home games, marking the longest such streak to open the season since at least 2000. The season opener is against Skidmore College on Nov. 13 and will be the first matchup between the teams in Hoboken since 2007. Matchups with New Jersey City University (Nov. 17), Catholic (Nov. 20) and Baruch (Nov. 23) and Rutgers-Newark (Nov. 28) wrap up the opening homestand. The Ducks will be looking to extend winning streaks against each opponent, having won the last two meetings with the Gothic Knights, the last three with the Cardinals, the last three with the Bearcats and the last meeting with the Scarlet Raiders.

As the calendar turns to December, the Ducks enter MAC Freedom play, heading to Glenside, Pennsylvania for the first meeting with Arcadia since 2006 and the first road contest of the season. Conference matchups against Lycoming (Dec. 4) and DeSales (Dec. 8) follow in Canavan Arena, before the Ducks return to non-conference play at Middlebury College on Dec. 12.

The second annual Stevens Men's Basketball Holiday Tournament begins on Dec. 29, with the Ducks taking on Johnson & Wales in the opening round and Hamilton and Dickinson facing off on the other half of the bracket. The consolation and championship games take place one day later. The opening-round matchup with the Wildcats is the first meeting between the teams, while a potential contest with either Hamilton or Dickinson on the second day of the tournament will also be a first-time matchup.

The final non-conference game of the season opens the second half of the schedule. Stevens will again head to Pennsylvania to take on Swarthmore College. The Garnet finished the 2019-20 season ranked atop the Division III poll.

MAC Freedom play resumes on Jan. 5 at King's College, where the Ducks return to the Keystone State for the second time in four days. Misericordia (Jan. 8) comes to Canavan Arena before Stevens plays back-to-back games away from campus at Delaware Valley (Jan. 12) and Wilkes (Jan. 15).

Stevens welcomes FDU-Florham to campus on Jan. 19 to close out the first half of the conference schedule before the Ducks head to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to take on Lycoming (Jan. 22) to begin the second half. The meeting with the Warriors is believed to be the first meeting between the programs.

The Ducks return home for a contest with Arcadia on Jan. 26, before heading to Center Valley to take on DeSales on Feb. 2. Back-to-back home games with King's (Feb. 5) and Delaware Valley (Feb. 9) send the Ducks into the final week of the season. Road tilts at Misericordia (Feb. 12) and FDU-Florham (Feb. 15) takes the Ducks into the season finale, where Wilkes comes into Hoboken to close out the regular season.

The MAC Freedom playoffs begin on Feb. 21 with the play-in game with the semifinals taking place on Feb. 23. The league champion will be crowned on Feb. 26.
