HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 8, 2021)  – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team announced its 2021-22 competition schedule Friday. The calendar features 25 contests, including 13 in the friendly confines of Canavan Arena, where the Ducks are 87-36 since 2010.

"The players have been working hard this preseason, and are excited to have a full season ahead of us," said head coach Megan Haughey. "We are led by a fantastic senior class who are eager to lead and set the tone for our group. We will spend our first days together focusing on our intangibles of man-to-man defense, rebounding, loose balls, and building our chemistry as a team. We have some talented newcomers, and a sophomore class who has yet to play a true season, so our journey will be fun, lots of teaching!"

The Ducks kick off the 2021-22 season on the road, traveling to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania to take on Susquehanna University on Nov. 10. It is believed to be the first meeting between the programs and marks the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Ducks have opened the season away from Canavan Arena.

Stevens then heads to nearby Union, New Jersey on Nov. 12 for the first of two tournaments. The Ducks take on Eastern Connecticut State in the first round of the Kean Classic and will either meet the hosting Cougars or Baruch College one day later. It is believed to be the first-ever meeting with the Warriors. Should the Ducks meet Kean on Day Two, it will be the first meeting with the Cougars since 2013, while a potential meeting with the Bearcats would be the first since 2015.

The College of New Jersey hosts the Ducks on Nov. 17 in a rematch of the opening game of the 2019 Stevens Women's Basketball Holiday Classic. The Ducks defeated the Lions 71-67 and the teams have alternated victories over the last four meetings.

Montclair State University comes to campus on Nov. 20 for the Ducks' home opener, which begins a stretch that will see Stevens play six of its next seven games on campus. Hunter College comes to campus two days later for the first meeting between the teams since 2011. The Ducks have won two of the three meetings from the Hawks since 2005, including both meetings in Hoboken.

MAC Freedom play begins on Dec. 1, with the Ducks heading to Glenside, Pennsylvania to take on Arcadia University. The teams last met in 2014 at the DeSales tournament in Center Valley with the Ducks coming away with a 63-54 victory. The contest marks the Ducks' final road contest of 2021.

Consecutive league games follow with Lycoming College (Dec. 4) and DeSales (Dec. 8) making the trip to Hoboken. While the matchup with the Warriors will be the first meeting between the teams, Stevens and DeSales have met six times since 2015.

Stevens welcomes the University of Scranton to Hoboken on Dec. 11 for the first meeting between the teams since 2010, before heading into winter break.

Brooklyn College, Gettysburg College and Catholic University come to campus on Dec. 29 for the Holiday Tournament. After a classic format in the event's first season, a more traditional tournament-style format was adopted this year with Stevens and Brooklyn playing in the opening game with Gettysburg and Catholic facing off in the second game. Consolation and championship games follow one day later. The Ducks are 4-2 all-time against the Bulldogs, including wins in four of the last five meetings. The opening-round matchup will be the first meeting between the teams since 2015. The two-day tournament rounds out the Ducks' non-conference slate.

MAC Freedom play resumes on Jan. 5 at King's College in the Ducks' first road contest in over a month. Misericordia (Jan. 8) comes to Canavan Arena before Stevens plays back-to-back games away from campus at Delaware Valley (Jan. 12) and Wilkes (Jan. 15).

Stevens welcomes FDU-Florham to campus on Jan. 19 to close out the first half of the conference schedule before the Ducks head to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to take on Lycoming (Jan. 22) to begin the second half. Home games with Arcadia (Jan. 26), King's (Feb. 5) and Delaware Valley (Feb. 9) surround road games at DeSales (Feb. 2), Misericordia (Feb. 12) and FDU-Florham (Feb. 15), which take the Ducks into February. Wilkes comes to campus on Feb. 19 for the regular-season finale to round out the schedule.

The MAC Freedom playoffs begin on Feb. 21 with the play-in game with the semifinals taking place on Feb. 23. The league champion will be crowned on Feb. 26.
