HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 8, 2021)  – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's and women's swimming teams announced their 2021-22 competition schedule Friday. The calendar features six dual meets and culminates in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships in February.

"Having both of our teams back on campus and at full strength is very exciting for us," said head coach Adam Schneider. "We are also very excited to have a more traditional swim season and to be welcoming one of our biggest incoming classes in a long time. We have some great meets ahead on the schedule, where we will luckily get to measure ourselves among some of the other top teams in Division III swimming. We have high hopes for MAC Championships and beyond, and after the past year we have returned even hungrier for fast swims and a positively memorable season."

As has been the case for the last several years, the season unofficially begins with the annual Meters for Mike event in September. Meters for Mike is a one-mile open water swim along the Jersey shoreline. The event rests on two pillars: advocating and raising money for those living with brain trauma and to remember Michael Heaney, who passed away in 2013 after a long struggle with his own traumatic brain injuries.

The actual  competition portion of the schedule kicks off on Oct. 9 when the Ducks head to Chester, Pennsylvania for a relay meet with conference foes Widener and Stevenson. The Ducks then head down to the southern portion of New Jersey for a dual meet with The College of New Jersey on Oct. 23. The relay meet will mark the program's first in-person event since Feb. 16, 2020 after the MAC adopted a virtual meet format in 2021.

The Ducks then welcome Drew University to the DeBaun Aquatic Center on Nov. 5 for the first of two duals on campus. NYU comes to Hoboken on Jan. 13, in the other.

Stevens heads north to Worcester, Massachusetts for the annual Gompei Invitational, hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Dec. 2-4. The taper meet closes out the first half of the schedule.

Following winter break, the Ducks head across the Hudson River on Jan. 13 for the first of back-to-back duals with NYU. The return contest takes place at the DeBaun Aquatic Center one day later. A dual at Messiah University follows on Jan. 16 as the Ducks wrap up a stretch of three dual meets against quality competition over a three-day span.

A trip to upstate New York on Jan. 29 closes out the schedule, where the Ducks will take on Hartwick College in a matchup of former Empire 8 Conference opponents.

York College of Pennsylvania will host the MAC Championships Feb. 10-13, where the men's team will look to repeat as champions for the third consecutive year, while the women's team will aim to return to the top of the podium after winning the league title in 2020.
