ANNVILLE, Pa. (May 11, 2021) – After a stellar season that saw the Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team advance to the MAC Freedom Championship match, the Ducks were awarded for their efforts as four student-athletes earned All-MAC Freedom honors and head coach Arik Zeevy was tabbed as the conference's Coach of the Year, the league announced Wednesday.

Sophomore Audrey Heaberlin and junior Agatha Malinowski earned First Team All-Conference honors while junior Alexis Fuda and senior Gabriella Tantillo landed on the Second Team.

The four selections were the most of any school and only Misericordia has multiple players earn First Team accolades.

Heaberlin was stellar all season as she posted an 8-1 overall record in singles play, gathering four wins at line one and five more at line two. All eight wins on the season came in straight sets as she also teamed up with Makenna Sargis to post a 10-1 record in doubles competition this season.

Malinowski, meanwhile, closed the season with a perfect 5-0 record as she did not drop a set on the year. In total, Malinowski won 60 of the 72 games she played in on the year and also joined Tantillo at flight one doubles and posted a 5-1 record in those matchups.

"Audrey and Agatha were our co-MVP's this season," Zeevy said. "Having Audrey and Agatha in the lineup is like having two No. one options, which was evident when Audrey stepped into the No. one position and went 4-0 without dropping a set. Agatha was undefeated at line one singles and playing the best tennis of her college tennis career before her season got cut short. We definitely missed her on-court presence in our last six matches. I am confident she will return in the Fall on a mission, and I am excited for what's to come for her on and off the court."

Fuda earned Second Team All-Conference honors after going 4-1 in singles play on the year with all four wins coming in straight sets. She was also fantastic in doubles competition as she teamed up with three different teammates to finish with a perfect 5-0 record playing at flights two and three.

Rounding out the All-MAC Freedom selections was Tantillo who posted the best performance of her career with an 8-2 overall record. She won seven of the eight singles matchups in straight sets including three at line three with the others coming at line five. She was also 9-2 in doubles play on the year including a dominant 8-3 win over Wilkes at flight two doubles in the MAC Freedom title match.

"I am happy for Alexis and Gabi being recognized as Second Team-All Conference," Zeevy said. "Alexis was playing through a rough patch and still managed 4-1 record at third singles and 5-0 record in doubles before her season came to an end, and I am confident that she would have been a huge part of our postseason success. Gabi stepped up this year and was one of our best doubles players, we wouldn't have gotten to the conference final without her. I also think Makenna, although not voted all-conference, had as strong of a season as anyone on our team this season, going 6-1 in singles and 9-1 in doubles, with six of those matches being at first doubles."

As for Zeevy, he earned Coach of the Year honors in his first season as the head coach of the women's program. Zeevy led the Ducks to a 9-2 record and the #2 seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament before narrowly falling to Wilkes. The .818 winning percentage to close the season is the best since 2000 when they went 17-0.
