HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 21, 2022) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team announced its 2022-23 competition schedule Friday.
In their first season under the direction of head coach James Carpenter, the Ducks will compete in 11 events, including one open and the annual Stevens Invitational, which will again be held at Canavan Arena.
The season begins on Oct. 23, at the LIU Sharktank Challenge, hosted by Long Island University at its Steinberg Wellness Center. The Ducks will compete at the Temple University Open on Oct. 29 in the only open event on the schedule.
Back-to-back events at Drew are next up as the Ducks will take part in the Rangers Fall Invitational Parts I & II on Oct. 30 and Nov. 6. Events at Vassar (Nov. 13) and Columbia (Nov. 18) lead the Ducks into the winter break.
The annual Eric Sollee Invitational (Jan. 29) kicks off the second half of the year and leads the Ducks into the Stevens Invitational on Feb. 5 - the only time the women's fencing team will compete on campus this year.
The FDU Invitational takes place on Feb. 12 in Teaneck, New Jersey and will serve as the final event before postseason play begins.
Drew will host both the Eastern Women's Fencing Conference Championships (Feb. 19) and the National Intercollegiate Women's Fencing Association Championships two weeks later (Mar. 4).
Haverford will host the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Mar. 11, with the NCAA Championships taking place at Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium beginning on Mar. 23.
