HAVERFORD, Pa. (September 24, 2023) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team picked up six victories on Sunday morning against Franklin & Marshall College (F&M), while the Ducks earned three singles victories against New York University (NYU) at the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational on Saturday.
Stevens won two of three doubles matches against F&M on Sunday. NYU won all of the doubles matches, winning all four contests on Saturday.
On the singles side, the Ducks got in the win column three times on Saturday. Junior Sebastian Wroe earned a hard fought 6-0, 6-4 victory over Rumaish Khastgir for the Ducks' first win of the day. Sophomore Max William-Kanz then earned a win over Zachary Freier 7-5, 6-2. Junior Matt Luzzi rounded out the Duck wins by taking down Alexander Lee 6-4, 3-6 (11-9).
On Sunday against F&M, the Ducks saw more success on the top line as junior Vivek Harinarayn picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win over Zac Ashtiani in singles. On line two, the Ducks earned another victory as Sebastian Wroe won again, this time 6-4, 6-2 over Samuel Donnelly. Kanz earned another singles victory on the day while first-year Samvid Andhare also tacked on a win to cap off the day for the Ducks.
