Men's Soccer to Face Muhlenberg in First Round of NCAA Tournament

Hoboken, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team will face Muhlenberg College in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.

The contest will be held at Amherst College's Hitchcock Field in Amherst, Mass., at 11 am or 1:30 pm. Be sure to check stevensducks.com for the game time, live stats, and video links. Amherst will face off against Neumann University in the other first-round match at the site.


The Ducks (11-3-4), who claimed the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Championship with a 2-1 triumph over DeSales University, are making their 20th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Adam Berrocal was named the MAC Freedom Most Valuable Player after netting a goal and assisting on Terry Thompson's game-winning goal in the Championship Game.


The Mules (12-3-6) fell to Johns Hopkins University in the Centennial Conference Final, drawing 1-1 before falling 5-3 in penalty kicks. Muhlenberg, who was seeded third in the Centennial Conference Tournament, took sixth-seeded McDaniel College 1-0 in the First Round. They moved on to battle second-seeded Franklin & Marshall where they topped the Diplomats 2-1.


Stevens and Muhlenberg have played six common opponents this season
Alvernia University, Lebanon Valley College, DeSales University, Kean University, Misericordia University, and The College of New Jersey. The two sides let met in 2015 as Stevens took down the Mules 1-0 on September 13, 2015.
