Women's Fencing Topped By Johns Hopkins, Columbia

Hicks Tallies 100th Career Win In JHU Setback

New York, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team was knocked off by Columbia University and Johns Hopkins University at the Columbia Invitational on Friday.

The Ducks were topped by JHU 21-6 and fell 24-3 to Division I Columbia. Grace Hicks notched her 100th career win at epee in the setback to Johns Hopkins.


HOW IT HAPPENED
Sabre posted identical 2-7 marks against the Lions and Blue Jays. In the Columbia match, Sasha Craine went 2-1, while Craine and Ashlyn Leung had wins against Johns Hopkins. Hicks was a perfect 3-0 at epee against Johns Hopkins and added a victory against Columbia. Elizabeth MacDonald was the other winner against JHU, picking up a win at foil.

UP NEXT
After hosting an alumnae meet in early December, the Ducks return to competition on February 2 as they visit Boston University for the Eric Sollee Invitational.
