Bley Named to Academic All-America Team

Graduate Student Selected to First Team

Hoboken, N.J. – Graduate student defender Elsa Bley of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team was named an Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators it was announced on Wednesday.

Bley, who boasts a 4.00 GPA as an Accounting and Analytics major, was named to the First Team. She was one of two Middle Atlantic Conference selections and this is the eighth time someone from women's soccer has been named to the Academic All-America Team.


"There is no better example of a student-athlete than Elsa," expressed Head Coach Stuart Dick. "The work that she puts in both on and off the field is incredible and she is someone that our entire team look up to. On top of her career in the classroom and on the pitch you will be hard pressed to meet a more humble and kind person than Elsa. She deserves everything that comes her way. We are so proud of Elsa and can't wait to see what she does in her next chapter after Stevenss."

A Second Team All-Region and MAC Freedom Co-Defensive Player of the Year, Bley notched two goals and two assists in conference play while also helping a Ducks' defense that allowed one goal against MAC Freedom opposition; she also surpassed 1,100 minutes on the pitch for the third straight season. The Washington native contributed four goals and four assists with 22 shots and scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick against Montclair State on September 17. She added two assists against King's and finished the season by playing a full 90 minutes in the last three contests.
