STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's indoor track and field team competed in the Wagner Seahawk Shootout Friday, Dec. 13, wrapping the Fall semester portion of its 2024-25 schedule with several Top 10 finishers against a field chock-full of Division I and II competitors.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior
Alexis Merola finished third in the pole vault, clearing 3.30 meters, the only D-III competitor with a successful clearance in the event.
One week after tying for sixth in program history with a leap of 1.58 meters in the high jump, junior
Maggie Previglian tied for seventh on Friday with a mark of 1.53 meters, equaling the mark set by senior
Caroline Tighe, who posted the third-highest jump in program history at 1.65 meters last February.
Juniors
Isabel Vogel and
Taylor Enes, already third and fifth on the all-time leaderboard at 600 meters, respectively, each set new personal bests in the event on Friday. Vogel ran 1:44.04, knocking .05 seconds off her previous mark, and Enes ran 1:45.18, knocking .31 seconds off her previous mark.
Sophomore
Isabella Shanley ran 41.82 in the 300 meters, becoming just the third woman in program history to finish the event in under 42 seconds.
Fionna Feerick finished 10
th in the mile in 5:25.52, second-fastest among non D-I runners in the event. The senior's new personal-best time slid her into ninth on the all-time program leaderboard.
