Williamstown, Mass. –
Caroline Tighe won the AARTFC Outdoor Regional Championship in the high jump, highlighting the Day Two slate for the Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team on Thursday.
The Ducks picked up 13 points and finished in a tie for 17
th with 16 points. Geneseo ran away with the regional crown, collecting 88 points, 25 points clear of runner up Rochester.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Of the six competitors still alive when the high jump bar was set at 1.65 meters, Tighe was the only one to clear the mark, in fact she was the only competitor to clear 1.52, 1.57, and 1.62 on her first jump each time.
Maggie Previglian and
Maya Lapinski each cleared 1.52 meters, with Previglian, who cleared the mark on her first attempt, finishing in a tie for ninth and Lapinski, who cleared on her third attempt, finishing in a tie for 15
th.
Isabella Gabay ran 4:48.75 in the 1,500 meters, less than a second off her personal-best of 4:48.02 set on March 29
th, the fourth-fastest time in school history.
Isabella Shanley posted 58.03 for 13
th place in the 400, less than a second off the 57.11 she ran two weeks ago for the second-fastest time in school history.

Isabel Vogel ran 9:37.05 (fourth-fastest time in program history) to finish sixth, one second faster than the previous best time for that group, set back on May 1. In the 400-meter hurdles,
Lauren Alley ran 1:04.81, less than a second-and-a-half off her personal-best of 1:03.36, placing 10
th.
Anya Sadowski finished 26
th in 1:11.36
UP NEXT
Those who have qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships will head to the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio May 22 through 24.
