Women's Track & Field Wraps Up Widener Evening Invite

Chester, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track and field team closed out competition at the Widener Winter Evening Invite on Saturday.

The meet, which had no team score, featured Middle Atlantic Conference foes Albright, Alvernia, Arcadia, DeSales, Eastern, King's, Messiah, Widener, and York while welcoming teams from around the region.


HOW IT HAPPENED
Michelle Elias Flores was the top finisher in the shot put, taking 29th with a throw of 9.24m. Anacarolina Ventura (8.31m), Breona Pizzuta (7.86m), and Claire Deatrick (7.79m) went back-to-back-to-back, with Lillian Lovelsmith (7.5m) and Josephine Lulaj (7.35m) also placing consecutively.

Ventura was the top finisher in the weight throw, placing 23rd 
with a mark of 11.65m. Elias Flores was 36th with a distance of 9.82m, and Deatrick was 39th (9.46m). Rounding out the weight throw competitors were Lulaj (8.97m), Lovelsmith (8.39m), and Pizzuta (7.43m).

UP NEXT
The Ducks return to action on Saturday, competing in the PLEX Shootout hosted by Alvernia University.
