Loudonville, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology golf team sits in ninth place after Day One at the RPI Collegiate Invitational after a team round of 310 (+26) on Sunday.
Swarthmore and the host Engineers were tied at the top of the leaderboard at +11 (295), five shots clear of the rest of the field. Third place Bishop (+16, 300) and 12
th place Clarkson (+34, 318) were separated by just 18 shots, with none of the teams between them separated by more than four strokes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Swarthmore
Arav Tank was the Ducks' high finisher, posting a round of 75 (+4) that ended with a final 12 holes played one-under, with birdies on two of his final six holes.
Sebastian Beaver and
Jack Harris each checked in two shots back of Tank with six-over 77's. The junior Beaver birdied the par-three 4th and par-four 9th, playing the front nine one over. The first-year Harris, who played the front nine at an even-par 36, birdied the par-five 5th and par-four 14th.
Ben Slicker shot a 10-over 81, parring two of his first three and five of his first seven holes.
Brock Dickson shot 84 (+14) on Sunday, parring eight holes, including a stretch of four in a row and five of six during his first nine.
