DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Kaitlyn Adams and
Isabella Gabay both earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the second straight season, leading the Stevens Institute of Technology women's cross- country team to a fourth-place finish at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday.
After finishing 15
th last year, Adams jumped up four spots, missing a Top 10 finish and First Team honors by less than 1.5 seconds, finishing the 6K course in 23:42.5. Gabay moved up six spots from last year, taking 13
th place (out of 137 runners overall) in 23:46.8.
Madeline Bender was the 48
th runner over the line, third for the Ducks, in 25:53, just a half-second faster than
Isabel Vogel who finished in 50
th;
Taylor Enes was the final Duck to score points for the team, running 26:01.2 for 57
th.
As a team, the Ducks amassed 154 points, 11 points clear of York and at least 52 points clear of any other team.
After finishing in third place & 40 points back last year, Lebanon Valley edged out Misericordia, denying the Cougars an eighth team title in the last 11 seasons, with all five runners finishing seventh through 14
th. Messiah took third ahead of the Ducks, and York rounded out the top five. Misericordia's Madison Hedglin was the individual champion, finishing 25 seconds faster than any other runner.
