Alexis Merola won the pole vault and
Caroline Tighe won the high jump as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team competed at the Alvernia Plex Shootout on Saturday.
With no team score, Stevens faced off against MAC foes Alvernia, Arcadia, Delaware Valley, FDU-Florham, Hood, King's, and York.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Merola claimed first place with a season-best mark of 3.30m in the pole vault and moved to 86
th in Division III , as
Stephanie Ryazanova placed 9th with a vault of 2.70m. Tighe excelled in the high jump, earning first place with a height of 1.57m, while
Maggie Previglian and
Allie Canciani tied for fifth and seventh at 1.52m.
Isabella Shanley also contributed with an eighth-place finish at 1.42m. Tighe continued her success in the long jump, placing fourth with a season-best distance of 4.78m.
In the women's 5000m,
Fionna Feerick secured third place with a personal best of 19:18.18, while
Samantha Rozek finished sixth with a season best of 20:07.22. The women's 60m hurdles saw Shanley take both the prelims and finals, claiming first place with personal bests of 9.82 and 9.74, respectively. In the mile,
Kaitlyn Adams set a personal best of 5:38.80 to place fifth, while
Gianna Adamo came in 17th at 6:25.30. The women's 800m featured
Isabella Gabay in fifth place with a time of 2:29.54, and
Taylor Enes in seventh with a season best of 2:34.64.
Allie Canciani,
Isabel Vogel, and
Kate Cen followed closely, finishing 18th, 19th, and 24th, respectively.
Lauren Alley achieved a personal best in the 200m, placing 16th with a time of 29.04.
The 4x200m squad of Ryazanova, Alley,
Anya Sadowski, and Shanley placed third with a time of 1:51.88, while the 4x400m team of Canciani,
Kate Cen,
Taylor Enes, and
Isabel Vogel claimed second place, clocking in at 4:35.58.
