NEW LONDON, Conn. – In a dual between two teams in the Top 25 of the latest National Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) poll, No. 22 Stevens Institute of Technology fell to No. 14 Coast Guard, 27-15, on Saturday afternoon.
The Rundown
- The Ducks trailed 19-0 through 149 pounds following a forfeit, two technical fall defeats, and a loss by decision.
- Ryan Smith put three points on the board for Stevens with a 6-3 decision win at 157 pounds.
- Chris Stathopoulos picked up his second win by decision in less than 24 hours, 8-2, at 165, picking up three more points for Stevens.
- After Coast Guard added a decision win at 174, Joel Martsinovsky joined Stathopoulos with his second decision victory of the weekend, 13-7, at 184.
- After a commanding 18-2 technical fall win last night, Blaise Wagner capped his weekend with a pin in just 54 seconds at 197, putting six points on the board for the Red and Gray.
- The Bears closed the meet with a technical fall victory at 285.

- Chase Randall and Dominic Moyer picked up technical falls at 133 and 141 pounds, respectively.
- Carl DiGiorgio picked up the Bears' final technical fall at 285.
