Men's Track & Field Competes At NYU DIII Invitational

New York, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's track & field team competed at the Division III Invitational, hosted by NYU, on Saturday afternoon.

With no team score at the meet, the NYU field included competitors from Vassar, Montclair State, and Elizabethtown, among others.


HOW IT HAPPENED
Michael Dao placed fourth in the pole vault, and Kyle Miller finished fifth, clearing 3.85m. Christopher Persico also earned a top-ten finish, securing eighth place with a height of 3.7m. In the mile, Jake Porco delivered a solid performance, finishing 19th with a time of 4:29.7, while Kevin Medrow followed closely in 22nd at 4:32.05. Bryan Onody ran an impressive 3,000-meter race, placing 13th in 8:56.86, with Cillian Griffin finishing 18th in 9:11.46.

In sprint events, Doug Winant led the way in the 60-meter dash with an 18th-place finish (7.25), while Connor Robinson took 20th in the 200-meter (23.42), followed by Winant in 22nd (23.64). James Johnson placed 49th in the same event (24.95). Chase Kosiba was the top finisher in the 400-meter, placing 19th with a time of 53.04, while Rai Bindra (28th, 54.02) and Mick Barbi (35th, 54.81) also competed. Matthew Hodorowski finished 26th in the 800-meter with a time of 2:02.74.


The hurdles saw strong performances from Joseph Perriello, who placed 10th in the 60-meter hurdles (8.87), and William Ladd, who finished just behind in 11th (8.89). The 4x400-meter relay teams finished 13th (Bindra, Gibson, Kosiba, Robinson – 3:39.01) and 15th (Medrow, Hodorowski, Stephen, Barbi – 3:41.11). Ladd also competed in the high jump, tying for 11th at 1.7m.


In the jumps, Justin Gajewski placed 21st in the long jump (5.83m), while Perriello finished 23rd (5.80m). Gajewski also competed in the triple jump, placing 19th (12.14m), with Connor Efinger taking 17th (12.38m).

The Ducks return to competition on Saturday, competing in the West Point Tune-Up hosted by Army.
