New York, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team posted top marks at the Division III Invitational, hosted by NYU, and the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Saturday.
The Boston University field featured competitors from Division I, Division II, and Division III, while the NYU field saw competitors from Vassar, Montclair State, and Elizabethtown, among others.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Isabel Vogel led the way with a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run at the NYU Invitational, clocking in at 2:22.06. In the field events,
Maggie Previglian and
Caroline Tighe tied for sixth place in the high jump, clearing 1.55m, while
Alexis Merola secured a sixth-place tie in the pole vault with a height of 3.25m.
Anacarolina Ventura also impressed, placing eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.06m, and
Fionna Feerick matched that placement in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:54.37.
Additional performances included
Stephanie Ryazanova finishing 13th in the 400-meter dash (1:03.44) and tying for seventh in the pole vault (2.80m), while
Taylor Enes placed 21st in the 400-meter (1:05.25).
Kate Cen clocked 2:41.03 in the 800-meter for 33rd place. In the mile,
Gianna Adamo placed 28th with a time of 6:20.31, as in the 3,000-meter race,
Madeline Bender took 18th (11:33.44),
Samantha Rozek finished 22nd (11:39.63), and
Catherine Bondi placed 25th (12:11.59). Ryazanova also competed in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing 17th in 10.05 seconds.
In the jumps,
Maya Lapinski took 12th in the high jump (1.50m), and Tighe placed 23rd in the long jump (4.54m). In the throws,
Michelle Elias Flores finished 19th in the shot put (9.43m), followed by Lillian Lovelsmith in 28th (8.12m). Ventura's eighth-place weight throw was complemented by
Claire Deatrick's 19th-place finish (11.21m) and
Breona Pizzuta's 24th-place effort (9.63m).
