Men's Track & Field Tallies Top-Five Marks At West Point Tune-Up

West Point, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's track & field posted six top-five marks at the West Point Tune-Up on Saturday afternoon.

There was no team score at the event, which saw Stevens compete against the Army, Vassar, and Merchant Marine Academy, amongst others.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Enrico Parrella delivered a top performance in the 1,000-meter race, securing first place with an impressive time of 2:35.81, followed closely by Matthew Hodorowski, who finished second in 2:43.98. Ryan Paradine also had a strong showing, taking third place in the 800-meter with a time of 1:59.28. Jake Porco claimed second place in the mile event, clocking in at 4:31.02, while Caleb Stephen finished fifth in 4:36.59. The 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Jake Aylmer, Liam Concannon, Frank Orlando, and Ryan Paradine, put forth a solid effort to secure third place with a time of 3:40.99.

In the distance events, Joseph Ruben placed eighth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:16, followed by Cillian Griffin in ninth (9:17.86) and James Adamo in 11th (9:39.51). The 800-meter race featured several competitors, with Jake Aylmer finishing seventh (2:02.77), Liam Concannon eighth (2:03.25), Kevin Medrow ninth (2:04.32), Bryan Onody 10th (2:05.54), and Frank Orlando 13th (2:07.29).

In the field events, Emmanuel Vega competed in both the shot put and weight throw, placing ninth in shot put with a throw of 11.52m and 12th in weight throw at 11.69m. Brandon Fox finished just ahead of Vega in the weight throw, placing 11th with a mark of 11.81m. In the high jump, Connor Effinger and Bruno Santana-Ferro both cleared 1.7m, finishing eighth and 10th, respectively.

UP NEXT
The Ducks compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship Meet next weekend. The two-day event gets underway Friday in Reading, Pa.
