CHESTER, Pa. – Less than two weeks out from NCAA Championships, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's track and field team brought a small-scale squad to the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday, May 12.
The Ducks competed in five events, with nearly half of their traveling contingent competing in the 800 meters.
Danny Jutras ran 1:52.75, just .60 seconds off his program record time set just last month,
Mick Barbi ran 1:56.98 -- missing a program all-time Top 10 time by half a second --, and
Jake Aylmer ran 1:57.94.
In the long jump,
Rai Bindra topped at 6.24 meters, doing so into a minor headwind, placing 16
th – seven competitors who finished ahead of him jumped with the benefit of a tailwind.
Elsewhere Braeden Joyce topped out at 44.13 meters in the javelin throw, Joseph Ruben ran 4:17.30 in the 1,500 meters, and
Caleb Stephen ran 15:44.79 in the 5,000.
