Reading, Pa. – Caroline Tighe claimed first place in the high jump as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team sits in fourth place after the first day of the Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Ducks have 26 points, as Widener sits in first place with 42 points. Lebanon Valley (33 points) and King's (29.5) also are in front of Stevens following the first day.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Tighe delivered the top performance of the day, securing first place in the high jump with a mark of 1.61m. The 4x200 relay team of Isabella Shanley, Stephanie Ryazanova, Anya Sadowski, and Lauren Alley earned a strong second-place finish with a time of 1:47.52. Shanley placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.57, just ahead of  Alley, who finished ninth in 9.59. The distance medley relay (DMR) team of Kaitlyn Adams, Kate Cen, Taylor Enes, and Isabella Gabay claimed seventh placewith a time of 13:14.43.

In the field events, Allie Canciani finished sixth in the high jump at 1.55m, while Caroline Tighe also placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 5.07m. The weight throw saw Anacarolina Ventura leading the team with an 11th-place finish at 13.5m, followed by Claire Deatrick (27th, 10.77m), Michelle Elias Flores (31st, 10.31m), Breona Pizzuta (36th, 9.14m), and Josephine Lulaj (39th, 8.47m).

In the distance events, Fionna Feerick finished 11th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:34.56, while Samantha Rozek placed 21st in 20:23.22. In the 60-meter hurdles, Stephanie Ryazanova ran 10.03 to finish 16th.
