Women's Track & Field Notches Top Marks at Virginia Beach Spring Break Invitational

Virginia Beach, Va. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team posted top marks in their outdoor season opener at the Virginia Beach Spring Break Invitational on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Leading the way with first-place finishes were Gianna Adamo in the 3000m steeplechase (14:16.5), Isabella Gabay in the 5000m (18:56.1), and Caroline Tighe in the high jump (1.63 meters). Securing second place were Kaitlyn Adams (5000m, 19:22.8), Catherine Bondi (5000m, 21:55.3), Isabella Shanley (100m hurdles, 16.25), Anya Sadowski (400m hurdles, 1:10.8), Ashley Muliawan (hammer throw, 41.44 meters), and the 4x400m relay team of Sadowski, Taylor Enes, Kate Cen, and Adamo (4:37.9). 

Isabella Shanley also claimed third place in the 200m (26.68), while Nina Burden placed fourth in the 1500m (5:18.2). Anacarolina Ventura finished fifth in the hammer throw (36.63 meters), and Caroline Tighe took sixth in the long jump (4.73 meters). Nina Burden also placed seventh in the 800m (2:37.2), while Kate Cen rounded out the top-ten finishes with a tenth-place performance in the 400m (1:09.5). 

UP NEXT
The Ducks return to competition on Friday as they head to Chester, Pa. for the two-day Danny Curran Invitational, hosted by Widener University.
