Abbotstown, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team sits in 11th place after the first round of the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Saturday.
The Ducks posted a team score of +38, finishing just eight strokes out of seventh place. York (Pa.) leads the tournament at +16, with Gettysburg close behind at +20.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Brock Dickson led Stevens with a +6 on the day, placing him in a tie with seven other golfers. His round marked his second-lowest score of the season, following a +5 at The Battle at Berkleigh on September 26.
Ben Slicker finished one stroke behind Dickson, tying for 24th in a six-way tie. He matched Dickson in achieving his second-best round of the year, having previously shot +2 at The Battle at Berkleigh.
Sebastian Beaver recorded an 84 (+12) to tie for 62nd, while newcomer
Evan Murphy followed closely with a +13. Rounding out the Stevens lineup,
Maxime Debets carded an 89 (+17).
