Women's Track & Field Tallies Top Performances At Danny Curran Invitational

Chester, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team turned in top performances at the Danny Curran Invitational on Saturday.

No team score was recorded as Stevens faced MAC foes such as Alvernia and Arcadia while also seeing regional opponents Rowan and TCNJ.


HOW IT HAPPENED
Caroline Tighe won the high jump, clearing 1.66m. Lauren Alley also secured a top-three finish, placing third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:06.41. In the 400 meters, Isabella Shanley impressed with a fourth-place finish, clocking 58.29 seconds. Isabella Gabay rounded out the team's top-ten finishes by placing ninth in the 1,500 meters at 4:48.02.

In the sprints, Tighe placed 46th in the 100 meters with a time of 13.89 seconds, while Stephanie Ryazanova finished 72nd in the 200 meters at 28.53 seconds. Anya Sadowski competed in the 400 meters, finishing 32nd with a time of 1:03.70. In the 800 meters, Gabay led the team with a 19th-place finish in 2:26.19, followed by Nina Burden in 30th at 2:29.01 and Taylor Enes in 39th at 2:31.81. In the distance events, Fionna Feerick finished 11th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 40:21.93, while Samantha Rozek placed 24th in 41:55.76, and Catherine Bondi took 34th in 45:08.47. Jacqueline Lulaj competed in the 5,000 meters, finishing 41st 
with a time of 20:24.61.

Tighe continued her strong performance in the field events with a 21st-place finish in the long jump, reaching 4.87 meters. Allie Canciani and Maggie Previglian tied for sixth in the high jump, each clearing 1.55 meters. In the pole vault, Alexis Merola placed 11th with a height of 3.05 meters. Anacarolina Ventura earned an 11th-place finish in the discus with a throw of 35.69 meters and later placed 45th in the shot put with a mark of 9.11 meters. Ashley Muliawan recorded a distance of 36.66 meters in the hammer throw, finishing 26th. In the javelin, Lillian Lovelsmith placed 27th with a throw of 23.44 meters.
