Shanley Takes Third In Heptathlon At TCNJ Multi & Invite

Ewing, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team resumed competition at the TCNJ Multi & Invite on Friday, finishing up the heptathlon while also competing in the 5,000-meter and hammer throw.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Isabella Shanley had a strong showing for Stevens, finishing third overall in the heptathlon with 3807 points. She opened the competition with a time of 15.85 in the 100m hurdles (733 points), followed by a clearance of 1.47m in the high jump (588). In the shot put, she reached 7.93m (395) and ran 27.81 in the 200m (646) to close day one. On day two, Shanley jumped 4.92m in the long jump (538), threw 21.20m in the javelin (311), and closed strong with a 2:27.46 in the 800m (725). 

Teammate Stephanie Ryazanova finished 11th with 2926 points. She started with a 17.78 in the 100m hurdles (511), cleared 1.29m in the high jump (399), and threw 7.61m in the shot put (374). She followed with a 30.01 in the 200m (481), jumped 4.40m in the long jump (403), threw 31.24m in the javelin (500), and wrapped up with a 3:06.34 in the 800m (309). Both athletes completed all seven events and represented Stevens with determination and consistency.

In the women's 5000m, senior Jacqueline Lulaj led the team with a strong sixth-place finish in a time of 20:27.01. In the women's hammer throw, senior Ashley Muliawan posted the top team result, placing seventh with a mark of 38.23m (125-05). Sophomore Claire Deatrick followed in 17th with a throw of 31.54m (103-05), and sophomore Breona Pizzuta took 21st at 27.52m (90-03). Freshman Lillian Lovelsmith placed 23rd with a throw of 26.49m (86-11), while sophomore Josephine Lulaj rounded out the squad in 26th with 24.02m (78-09).
