Chester, Pa. –
Kaitlyn Adams set a new school record in the steeplechase to highlight a strong showing by the Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team at the Paul Donahue Invitational on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Adams led the way with a strong fifth-place finish in 11:36.25, breaking the previous school record of 11:44.27 held by
Rachel Rouse since May 3, 2024.
Gianna Adamo also competed, placing 17th. In the high jump,
Allie Canciani cleared 1.55 meters to finish third overall.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of
Kate Cen,
Allie Canciani,
Nina Burden, and
Isabel Vogel clocked a time of 4:16.25, earning eighth place. In the 800-meter open, Vogel led the Ducks with a time of 2:22.76 to place 23rd. She was followed closely by
Isabella Gabay (25th, 2:23.47) and
Nina Burden (29th, 2:23.91). Additional competitors included
Taylor Enes (41st),
Madeline Bender (49th),
Kate Cen (51st), and
Allie Canciani (53rd).
Gabay also delivered a solid performance in the 1500 meters, finishing 19th in 4:48.66, with Bender placing 32nd. In the 5000 meters, senior
Fionna Feerick led the squad with an 18th-place finish in 18:32.40. She was followed by
Samantha Rozek (32nd) and
Jacqueline Lulaj (45th).

The Ducks will return to Pennsylvania on Saturday to compete in the Monarch Open, hosted by King's College.
