WAYNE, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team took first at the William Paterson-hosted Preakness Invitational on Monday. The Ducks finished with a team score of 313, 11 shots clear of the host Pioneers (324) and at least 31 shots clear of the other three competing teams: Montclair State Club (344), Yeshiva (348), and Kean (349).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Noah Eide finished four shots ahead of the 30 other competitors with a two-over 72. Will Fulton finished five shots back of Eide, finishing tied for fourth with a 77. Alex Carey carded an 81, tying for 7th, while Dillon Kim and Punn Chittaratlert finished 9th and 10th with an 83 and 84, respectively.
Eide birdied the par-4 14th and par-5 as part of an even-par back nine, one of just two competitors on the day to do so, Fulton being the other after making birdie on the par-4 11th as well as the 18th.
Carey and Chittaratlert also made birdie on 18, as the Ducks recorded four of the seven birdies on 18 in total for the day.
