Men's Golf Takes First at Preakness Invitational; Eide Finishes Four Shots Clear of Field

WAYNE, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team took first at the William Paterson-hosted Preakness Invitational on Monday. The Ducks finished with a team score of 313, 11 shots clear of the host Pioneers (324) and at least 31 shots clear of the other three competing teams: Montclair State Club (344), Yeshiva (348), and Kean (349).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Noah Eide finished four shots ahead of the 30 other competitors with a two-over 72. Will Fulton finished five shots back of Eide, finishing tied for fourth with a 77. Alex Carey carded an 81, tying for 7th, while Dillon Kim and Punn Chittaratlert finished 9th and 10th with an 83 and 84, respectively.

Eide birdied the par-4 14th and par-5 as part of an even-par back nine, one of just two competitors on the day to do so, Fulton being the other after making birdie on the par-4 11th as well as the 18th.

Carey and Chittaratlert also made birdie on 18, as the Ducks recorded four of the seven birdies on 18 in total for the day.

UP NEXT
The Ducks head to the Shawnee (Pa.) Inn & Golf Resort May 3-4 in search of a fifth consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Championship.
