Alexis Merola, and
Maya Lapinski registered victories as Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team finished competition at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Saturday.
No team was recorded as Stevens competed regional foes Muhlenberg, Moravian, Scranton, DeSales, Dickinson, and Franklin & Marshall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the 400m hurdles,
Isabella Shanley led the way with a first-place finish in 1:06.55, followed closely by freshman
Anya Sadowski in second with a personal best 1:08.03. In the 3000m steeplechase,
Kaitlyn Adams earned second place in 11:53.53, with
Jacqueline Lulaj placing fifth in 12:46.52,
Catherine Bondi eighth in 13:27.25, and
Gianna Adamo ninth with a personal best of 13:49.66.
Lauren Alley secured a fifth-place finish in the 400m with a PR of 1:01.79, followed by
Taylor Enes in tenth with a PR of 1:04.40 and
Nina Burden in thirteenth at 1:05.24. In the 800m,
Isabel Vogel placed fourth in 2:26.03, while
Madeline Bender ran a PR of 2:30.48 for eleventh and
Kate Cen clocked a PR 2:34.93 for sixteenth.
Fionna Feerick placed sixth in the 5000m with a personal best 18:49.83, and
Samantha Rozek took tenth with a PR of 19:42.68. In the 200m,
Taylor Enes ran a personal best 29.48 to finish nineteenth.
In the field events,
Maya Lapinski cleared 1.42m to win the high jump, and
Breona Pizzuta earned eighth place with a personal best 1.37m. The hammer throw saw
Ashley Muliawan place fifth with a mark of 38.75m, followed by
Anacarolina Ventura in seventh with 36.96m.
Claire Deatrick,
Josephine Lulaj,
Breona Pizzuta, Lillian Lovelsmith, and
Michelle Elias Flores placed thirteenth, seventeenth, eighteenth, nineteenth, and twenty-third, respectively, all with strong efforts. In the javelin, Lillian Lovelsmith finished twelfth with a 22.22m throw,
Claire Deatrick earned seventeenth with a PR of 19.26m, and
Breona Pizzuta placed twentieth at 15.53m.
In the shot put,
Michelle Elias Flores threw 9.59m for fourteenth, Ventura followed in fifteenth at 9.50m, Deatrick was twenty-first with 8.96m, and Lovelsmith placed twenty-eighth with 6.93m.
Alexis Merola led the way in the pole vault, taking first with a clearance of 3.19m. The women's 4x400m relay team rounded out the day with a fifth-place finish in 4:16.45.
