York, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team finished fourth at the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championships, which concluded on Saturday.
The Ducks collected 84 points, trailing Widener (171), Lebanon Valley (110.5), and King's (85).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophomore
Isabella Shanley delivered a standout performance in the 400-meter, winning the event in 57.11. She had qualified with a time of 59.89, which was sixth overall, and went on to win the final by 0.33 seconds over Halle Jennett of Messiah. In the 800-meter,
Isabel Vogel (2:21.96) and
Nina Burden (2:25.66) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, combining for five points. Vogel had placed fifth in the prelims with a time of 2:21.53, while Burden was eighth in 2:22.44.
Shanley also placed sixth in the 200-meter, clocking in at 26.14—just 0.05 ahead of Bianca Burke of FDU-Florham. She had qualified fourth in 26.24.
Lauren Alley took third in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 1:03.358, just 0.006 seconds behind Elise Daniel of Widener.
Alexis Merola earned five points for the Ducks with a fourth-place finish in the pole vault. The junior cleared 3.15m, 3.25m, and 3.35m before successfully reaching 3.40m on her first attempt.
Stephanie Ryazanova finished 10th in the event with a mark of 2.80m.
First-year
Isabella Gabay contributed one point in the 1,500-meter, placing eighth with a time of 4:49.11—over a second ahead of ninth place.
Kaitlyn Adams (5:05.36) and
Madeline Bender (5:09.43) also posted top-14 finishes in the event.
Fionna Feerick placed ninth in the 5,000-meter with a time of 18:41.01, while
Samantha Rozek finished 19th in 20:39.81. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Lauren Alley,
Allie Canciani,
Anya Sadowski, and Vogel took seventh in 4:07.68—one second ahead of eighth place.
