Mitloff Wins MAC Freedom Softball Rookie of the Year; Six Ducks Named All-Conference

ANNVILLE, Pa. –  First-year Allison Mitloff claimed co-Rookie of the Year honors and All-MAC Freedom First Team honors, one of six members of the Stevens Institute of Technology softball team selected to the league's All-Conference teams announced on Friday.

Mitloff was joined by shortstop Jessica Guerrero and fellow outfielder Megan Curtis on the first team. Kyra Fischer (pitcher) and Jessica Hsu (utility) were selected to the second team; Rachael Prescott (first base) was named honorable mention.

Misericordia's Emily Susanj was named Player of the Year, FDU-Florham's Erin Sinatra was the conference Pitcher of the Year, Lebanon Valley's Holly Grube shared co-Rookie of the Year honors with Mitloff while her coach Scot Adams was tabbed conference Coach of the Year.

Mitloff started her collegiate career 2-for-12 but finished the season with 51 hits over her final 99 at-bats, ending the year with a program record for highest batting average by a first-year (.477), a mark that also led the conference. In MAC Freedom play, Mitloff hit safely in all 12 games, finishing with an astounding .568 average and an OPS over 1.250.

Guerrero caps her career with a fourth straight all-conference selection (2024 Honorable Mention, 2023 Second Team, 2022 Honorable Mention). The Arcadia, Calif. native was Top-15 in the conference in batting average and Top 10 in both OPS & total bases. In conference play, she finished sixth in both average and OPS while tying for first in total bases. Starting all 35 of her appearances, the team was 20-15 in those contests; they were 0-7 in the seven games in which she did not play.

With just 15 hits in 61 career at-bats entering the season, Curtis had a breakout 2025 campaign, hitting .380 with an OPS over 1.050, stealing 17 bases on 20 attempts, and drawing 21 walks while only striking out 10 times. The Southampton, Pa. native ranked in the Top 10 in the conference in batting average, OPS, and runs scored, finishing first in on-base percentage, one of just three full-time starters with a .500+ mark. Perhaps her best stretch of the season came at the end of March, when she posted a .542 average with eight runs and six RBI during an eight-game hitting streak.

Fischer set career-bests this season with 10 wins, 17 complete games, and 76 strikeouts. In nine appearances and seven starts in conference play, Fischer pitched to a 1.92 ERA (6th among all hurlers), with 26 strikeouts (4th), and a .275 batting average against (8th). In all, the Mount Laurel, N.J. native struck out at least five batters in six starts and had four outings of at least five innings without allowing an earned run.

Hsu showed plenty of promise across the board in her first collegiate season. In the circle, Hsu finished the year with the 11th-best ERA (2.94) and 6th-best batting average against (.263) in the conference. At the plate, Hsu hit .327 while striking out just five times in 101 at-bats. Hsu played like a seasoned veteran right from the start of conference play, hitting .444 (8-for-18) with two runs and two RBIs in her first five MAC Freedom starts.

Prescott hit .308 for the year with a career-best 11 extra-base hits and .462 slugging percentage. After starting the year 2-for-9 through five games, the Jefferson, N.J. native hit .316 over her final 29 appearances, her average not dropping below .300 at any point during that extended stretch. In the field, Prescott was nearly flawless at first base, committing a single error in 271 chances, good for a .996 fielding percentage.

The Ducks finished the season posting their highest win percentage in conference play since 2021. The All-MAC Freedom Softball Team is nominated and voted on by the eight conference softball coaches.
