Bondi, Adams Post Strong Showings for Women's Track and Field at West Point Twilight

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Several members of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's track and field team posted personal bests and all-time program Top 10 marks Thursday evening at the Army-hosted West Point Twilight event.

In addition to various D-3 teams like Rowan, Rutgers-Newark, Farmingdale State, Merchant Marine, Mount St. Mary, the event featured such D-1 and D-2's as UAlbany, Hofstra, Fordham, Colgate, Lafayette, Vermont, American International College, Adelphi, St. Thomas Aquinas, and the host Black Knights, wit the Ducks holding their own in several events.

First-year Catherine Bondi finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a personal-best 13:17.75, placing her 10th in outdoor program history. Sophomore Kaitlyn Adams ran a personal-best 18:55.92 in the 5,000 meters, slotting her into 9th on the outdoor all-time Top 10 list.

Elsewhere, Maya Lapinski cleared 1.55 meters in the high jump, tying her with a jumper from Army-West Point and putting her .05 meters clear of a competitor from D-2 St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Ducks will compete at the Widener Final Qualifier in Chester, Pa. next Monday, May 12, at 11:00 a.m.
