Fleetwood, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team sits in first place after the first day of the Ursinus Season Opener on Sunday.
 
The Ducks carded a +21, 301 through the first 18 holes, leading the field by three strokes. Elizabethtown is three shots back while Lancaster Bible sits in third, seven shots back of the lead.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Newcomer Jack Harris is tied for second, shooting a +1 (71) after the opening round. Harris was two-under on the front nine, and played the first seven holes at -2. He birdied the par-four second and fourth before notching three consecutive pars. The newcomer polished off his front-nine 33 with a birdie on the ninth. Harris added a pair of birdies on the final nine, including one on par-five, 12^th.
 
Brock Dickson is one shot behind Harris, recording a 72. After hitting birdie on the par-three, third hole, Dickson closed out the first nine with back-to-back pars to enter the turn at 37. The senior racked up five birdies over the final nine, including four straight from 13-17. He enters day two at +2 after shooting an even 35 on the back-nine.
 
Juniors Arav Tank and Noah Eide sit tied for 16^th after shooting a 79. Both notched a 37 on the opening holes, as Eide recorded a birdie on the par-five, 12^th. Sebastian Beaver was the final competitor for the Ducks and is one back of Tank and Eide after shooting an 80. Beaver recorded 10 pars on the day to complete his round.\
