Men's Golf Wins Ursinus Season Opener

Second Tournament Win in Six Days for Ducks

Fleetwood, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team won the Ursinus Season Opener on Monday, finishing five strokes ahead of runner-up Lancaster Bible.

Just six days removed from taking the season-opening William Paterson Fall Invite, the Ducks took the top spot at Moselem Springs Golf Course, shooting +18 during the second and final day of competition, the second-lowest team round of the day and three strokes better than their +21 on Sunday for a two-day score to par of +39.

Lancaster Bible finished Monday +16 and +44 for the tournament; Elizabethtown, who started the day just three shots back of the Ducks, carded +42 on Monday, finishing 27 shots back.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jack Harris was the high finisher for Stevens, finishing tied for third among the 44 competitors at +7 after a six-over Monday highlighted by birdies on two of his first eight holes. Brock Dickson finished in fifth, one shot back of Harris, birdieing the Par-4 16th for the second day and birdieing the Par-3 5th after bogeying the hole on Sunday.

Sebastian Beaver finished in a tie for 8th, birdieing four of his first eight holes on Monday, including three in a four-hole stretch.
Finishing in 10th (tie) and 16th, respectively, Arav Tank and Noah Eide rounded out the Ducks' five-man squad. Tank birdied two holes and eagled the Par-5 7th on Monday; Eide birdied the Par-4 10th and Par-3 13th on Monday.

As a team, the Ducks played the 13th hole three-under, the 16th hole two-under, and the 17th one-under on Monday.

The team won't be off the links for long as they'll head to Selinsgrove, Pa. for the Susquehanna Fall Invite on Thursday, September 18.
