Lock Haven, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's cross country team competed in a pair of races at the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday morning.
In the 8K Crimson Race, Stevens placed 15th with 382 points, while the Ducks finished 12th in the 8K White Race. Ashland captured the White Race with 74 points, followed by Northwood in second with 113. Stevens was the top Division III finisher in the White Race, while in the Crimson Race, the Ducks trailed Division III programs Lebanon Valley (fifth overall) and Point Park (ninth).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Mick Barbi paced Stevens in the Crimson Race, crossing the line in 26:14.1 for 66th overall.
Jacob Nolan followed close behind in 26:20.9 (73rd), with Daniel Jutras (26:42.0, 89th) and
Caleb Stephen (26:57.3, 107th) next across.
Joseph Ruben rounded out the scoring five in 26:57.8 (108th), while
Ryan Paradine (27:10.1, 120th) and
Markus Soennichsen (27:12.3, 122nd) were just behind. Additional finishers included
Ryan Shibles (27:14.5, 125th),
Dylan Barrett (27:27.0, 138th), and
Matthew Hodorowski (28:15.7, 161st). The Ducks' top five combined for 383 points in the Crimson Race.
In the White 8K,
Kevin Medrow led the Ducks with a 24th-place finish in 27:40.
Max Thorn followed in 28:06.9, while
Nelson VanMaaren (28:47) and sophomore
Enrico Parrella (29:09.5) were next to cross.
Cillian Griffin closed the scoring five in 29:18.4 (82nd). Other finishers included
Divyesh Narravula (29:19.6, 83rd),
William Parker (29:34.1, 89th),
Ryan Kropac (30:08.6, 103rd), and
Christopher Reyes (30:19.4, 107th), along with
Christian Garofano (31:05.0, 121st) and
Colin Fisher (31:38.9, 128th).
