Williamsport, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team placed 11th at the DIII Northeast Elite that concluded Monday afternoon.
The Ducks posted a two-day total of 615 (+47). At the time of publication, Rochester, McDaniel, and Gettysburg were separated by just three shots atop the leaderboard, with Rochester leading at +11.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First-year
Jack Harris delivered the biggest turnaround of the event, improving 17 strokes from his opening round to card a four-over 75 on Monday and climb nine spots into 78th place. Harris was steady on the outward nine, shooting a one-under 35 with a birdie on the par-four fourth, and added five pars on the inward side to close with a 40.
Sebastian Beaver was one shot behind Harris on the day, finishing with a 76 (+5) to tie for 45th overall at +12. Beaver matched 38s on both sides of the course and played holes 4–15 at even par, highlighted by birdies on the par-four fifth and par-four 12th.
Arav Tank was the Ducks' top finisher, placing 29th at nine-over for the tournament. Tank closed strong, playing his final four holes at one-under, including a birdie on the par-four 16th.
Ben Slicker tied for 58th after finishing at +14 over 36 holes. He capped his final round with a steady stretch of three consecutive pars and played his last seven holes at just one-over.
Alex Carey rounded out the lineup with a +21, which included a birdie on the par-four 13th.
INSIDE THE FIELD
The Ducks faced a highly competitive field that featured several opponents ranked in the top 100 of the 2024-25 rankings, including Rochester (24th), Gettysburg (16th), Hamilton (54th), Franklin & Marshall (51st), York (68th), McDaniel (78th), Swarthmore (100th), and Penn State-Altoona (80th). Stevens finished two strokes ahead of Allegheny, which entered the tournament ranked 61st.
