EWING, N.J. – The No. 23 Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling team dropped a Garden State Showdown on Friday night, falling in a dual to No. 4 TCNJ, 32-8.
THE RUNDOWN
- The teams traded one decision win and one tech fall win apiece over the first four matches, with things all square at 8-8; Nico Diaz collected the Ducks' technical fall (19-4) at 141 and Cole Handlovic won a 7-2 decision over No. 14 J.J. Giordano at 149; the two improved to a combined 41-2 this season
- In the first two matches of the evening featuring no ranked wrestlers on either side, TCNJ picked up a decision win at 157 and a fall at 165, opening a 17-8 advantage
- The Lions put the match away with victories in each of the final four matches
- In an exhibition contest, Andrew O'Reilly collected a decision win at 157 pounds
